Ronnie-boy's moves are here: [link]
Profile:

Name: Ron Shao (Also referred to as "sandman" or "Sandmurai" ( complements of :iconminiyuna: )
Current age: 18
Hair color: Sun-bleached gray/brunette
Eye color: Orangeish-red
Gang: The Crucible of Gaia
Bending skill: Sandbending
RON IS A PARTIAL ALBINO. Yes, that means he should've gotten skin cancer from living in the desert, but Sandbenders were very smart about getting too much vitamin D. Thus explaining his tanned albino skin. That and he's been a year away outside of the desert, so he's starting to get even more white now.

Personality:
Ron Shao is patient. He is never ever surprised at anything. He accepts all events of life as Gaia's will and does his best not to find any objections in it. He is very tolerant of most things, but the harm of human, animal, and home is one thing he will never allow himself to witness. He has a noble sense that honor exists, and if engaged in a fight will allow his opponent the chance to surrender at any time unless the cause for their fight is unforgivable (murder, for example).
He is very philosophical in his thoughts, and tends to take a lot of time to do many things. He loves to think, and if someone will hear him out, he loves to talk. One of his weaknesses is that he loves attention. Something he didn't get a lot of on the dunes. But even so, he doesn't go seeking attention unless he really really really REALLY wants to show somebody something - like if he engraved a pattern along the bottom of the walls in the home-tunnels.
------------------------------------------
Additional Social behavior:
Ronnie was the only child in his Sand-bending tribe for quite a while, and there weren't any other children that he actually communicate with until he was 14 - the others being around 8 and 10. Because of this, he makes friends easily with younger people, but he also has to remain mature enough to engage in speaking with adults. He didn't get to play often in the far-off deserts, but he does enjoy letting loose now and then to play with others. When he has nothing to do, Ron's first choice of time-wasting is usually going outside of the caves and watching things - it doesn't matter what, because he could entertain himself easily enough. His second choice is finding other members of the Crucible of Gaia and just spending time with them or performing service projects with them.
------------------------------------------
Mental Process:
Ron is not laid-back at all. He doesn't sit lazily doing nothing - though many will see him and think so as he spends hours staring at something, but no matter the situation - he always has something on his mind. See, Ron believes that the real beauty of Gaia lie in the details of life. He will spend hours doing small things that aren't hugely noticed, but when they are it is usually quite impressive. This is why he sandbends - he is incapable of moving a stone fragment larger than his knucklebone, and instead chooses the small yet beautiful grains of earth that sparkle in the sunlight.
------------------------------------------
Talents:
*Living in the desert with few resources, and having worked with his parents (the first-aidsmen of the sandbenders), Ron has a very extensive knowledge of herbs for various things like edible plants and basic healing of limbs - though they aren't the most pleasurable to experience and they won't heal as fast as a Waterbending Healer could do, but they get the job done. He also has discovered that Cactus Juice extract, when diluted, has the ability to combat hangovers.
------------------------------------------
Their Past:
Born to a father and mother (the apothecaries of the tribe) of the Sandbending tribes of the desert - Ron was the misfit of the group. While everyone around him worked hard to maintain survival, robbing wanderers and sometimes even killing, Ron would instead wait on the ships, staring off into the dunes. Most of the tribal believed him to be a leech; a lazy no-good youngling who thought himself too good to help keep the group alive. Only his parents knew the truth - he was unhappy here. He did not stare off into the distance day-dreaming, but thinking profound thoughts. In events of emergency, he was always the first to come up with practical and intelligent solutions, ones that never involved hurting anyone. However, one day on his 17th birthday, the group came forward and banished him. They could not support someone who didn't fulfill his share of work for the group. Until he learned how to support his home and perform hard labors, he would not be allowed to roam with the tribe. His parents, however devastated, had to agree. Even they had begun to grow weary of their philosophical son. He was still their son, however, and his Father gave him a small satchel he made himself, whilst his mother supplied him with various mathons they had collected from over the years.

Their Present:
The fateful day when Ron would be embossed into the ranks of the Crucible of Gaia was a beautiful one - in his opinion, at least. The skies were totally gray with clouds, yet no rain had fallen yet. The effect had one of calming on the world, and just outside of the city of JingDou, Ron had been sitting in front of an ever-large boulder lying adjacent to the main road leading up to and away from the large city. Many a passersby eyed him wearily and avoided him. Why a sandman of the deserts was outside their city staring at a rock all day was none of their business. As the day began to darken, Ron - ever vigilant - remained in place, still pondering silently in his own thoughts. His meditation was interrupted when he felt someone's hand contact with his shoulder. Unflinching, he opened one eye and turned his head to find himself in the presence of three people wearing similar outfits. Natural-made was an understatement for the way these newcomers dressed. After brushing himself off, he stood up and introduced himself, and asked why he had been bothered. In response, the tallest and eldest of the group - having a long scarf around his neck - expressed the curiosity they had, wondering as to why Ron had been sitting in front of a rock all day.

Ron's own eyes lit up - though instead with color, anticipation.
"Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be this boulder, tall and majestic?" He asked, turning around and waving his arms at the large stone. "It stands here, welcoming and bidding farewell to all those coming in and out of the city - it sees and guides these people to the future events of their lives, unchallenged by anyone. I envy this rock; it has seen much in its time and has much yet to see. If only it could talk! The things it could tell us about! Such thoughts are the things I have been meditating on this day…" He was excited to finally speak to someone that wasn't his father about his thoughts.

The group then asked him why he was here in JingDou.
Upon explaining his situation, it was Ron's turn to ask these people their names. After a short talk, he learned of the city's ways, and after the three had a short discussion amongst themselves, the tall man - "Father" Guerin invited Ron to join the Crucible of Gaia, offering a home that would never leave. He extended one of his hands out to Ron, who with tears in his eyes, gladly reached out and shook enthusiastically.

Their Future:
Although his original plan was to quickly leave, learn, and return to the dunes of the desert, Ron has found a new purpose with the Crucible of Gaia. He has seen what he can do to help others in JingDou - something he couldn't accomplish as a desert rat. So as to begin on a new path of enlightenment, Ron has tossed aside his sandbender cloaks and donned a new set of dress. One that he intends to wear as long as he can.

His new running motivation is the protection and sanctifying of his new home. In the desert, he had no home that lasted longer than a week. Always traveling, never settling down was something his heart couldn't handle. Now that he has found a home that he won't have to leave, he will do anything to keep it the most beautiful and peaceful place that it can be.

Other notes:
Ron, having grown up where food was scarce and having more than enough was a burden, already knows the value of only taking what you need. He's seen his share of fights - having to grow up in the desert, that was something you couldn't avoid. He is handy with throwing rocks - but he won't bend anything larger than a small pebble. When he does throw rocks, he chooses sandstone over heavier materials, as it explodes on impact, allowing him the satisfaction of knowing he didn't hurt his target, but at the same time allowing himself time to run as the target flinches.
Ron has a ridiculous amount of patience, like WAYYYY ridiculous. He is accustomed to sitting in the same pose for hours without too much soreness afterwords. Not much surprises him - even an explosion in the desert was not enough to make him blink. But his lack of reflexes is also a detriment to his reactions.

[UPDATE! 1/23/10]
Other Fun Facts about Ron Shao:

Ron finds two things ridiculously intriguing.
1. Water-bending. As if water wasn't hard enough to come by in the desert, but to see people being able to influence it! WOW.
2. A good view. Aesthetically pleasing sights make the clockwork in Ron's mind go into overdrive. He'll stare at what he sees, and pick apart every little detail that makes the overall thing so appealing. Now and then he'll realize that he's staring at a girl - and that the girl is staring back.
Ron: O///O

If Ron were to be taken to the highest point in all of JingDou, he probably wouldn't want to ever come down. He'd be so mesmerized by the people and the buildings that he's be up there until someone knocked some sense into him. If he lived nowadays, his favorite past-time would probably be reading a "Where's Waldo" book. X3

Wellllll howbout that!? Here I am trying to finish off my Jexo character sheet and then :iconminiyuna: has to come in and RUIN everything by showing me the awesomeness that is :iconcapital-city-jingdou: :shakefist:
Oh well, it's alright though, because there are several groups within JingDou - and Mini totally showed me her group - which just happens to be the 'semi-religious boy scouts' of the group! And y'all know how much I love goody-two shoes characters :'D
